Brett Peterson started with Centrol in 2008. He grew up in Mayville, North Dakota and holds a B.S. in Crop and Weed Science from North Dakota State University. Brett always wanted to farm, but without a family farm background being a crop consultant is the next best thing. Brett and his wife, Lindsey, and chocolate lab, Abe, reside in Bismarck, North Dakota. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, and anything involved with whitetails and archery. “I thoroughly enjoy the growers I work with, the amount of knowledge available from my fellow co-workers, and facing the challenges of our fast paced, competitive agricultural industry.” 

Brian Foster started with Centrol in 2001. He grew up in Britton, South Dakota. He holds a B.S. in Crop and Weed Science from North Dakota State University and is a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA). He was a Teaching Assistant in Weed Science under Dr. Cal Messersmith.  Brian started full time with Centrol upon graduation in 2004.  He is married and lives in Jamestown North Dakota. He enjoys hunting, fly fishing, golf, traveling and spending time with family and friends. “I enjoy sharing ownership in such a great company compiled of competitive, knowledgeable, and fun individuals.  I like the challenges that our job brings and the clients that I work with.”

Chris Johnson began with Centrol in 1997. He grew up in Kindred, North Dakota. Chris holds a B.S. in Ag Systems Management with a Minor in Ag Economics and Crop and Weed Science. He is also a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA). He lives near Wild Rice, North Dakota with his wife, Dawn, and their chocolate lab, Tess. Chris enjoys aviation and is a private pilot. What he likes about Centrol is the fact that we are employee-owned and works with people who enjoy their jobs, just like he does.

Craig Schroeder began with Centrol in 2003. He grew up on a farm near Oriska, North Dakota. Agriculture has been a major part of his life, from working on farms in North Dakota to ranches in Montana. In December of 2006 Craig graduated from North Dakota State University, with a degree in General Agriculture. He lives near Valley City, North Dakota with his wife Kya. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and being in the outdoors. When asked what he enjoys about working with Centrol, he said “Being an employee-owned company and working with an outstanding group of professionals who truly care about their clients.”

Dan Moser has been with Centrol since March of 1990. He was born in Minot, North Dakota and grew up in Larimore, North Dakota where he graduated from high school. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Crop and Weed Science from North Dakota State University. Dan is CCA certified and is a member of the National Alliance of Independent Crop Consultants. In 2002,    he was awarded the Consultant of the Year Award. He, his wife, and his two sons, Theodore and Timothy reside in Larimore, North Dakota. Dan's hobbies include hunting (deer, turkeys, ducks, geese, and pheasants), fishing, going to the lake, and traveling. He enjoys sharing ownership of the company with 25 other people, thereby being his own boss.

Dan Schindele started with Centrol in 1989. He grew up in Stephen, Minnesota and attended North Dakota State University, where he earned a B.S. in Crop and Weed Science. He is certified both as a Certified Professional Crop Consultant (CPCC-I) and as a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA). He lives near Park River, North Dakota with his wife, Phyllis, and enjoys shooting trap, hunting, and horses. Dan says that “the growers that I work with make the job fun, and make me want to go the extra mile. Centrol’s teamwork and network helps a lot as we have a large resource of knowledge within our company.”

David Genereux started with Centrol in 1983. He grew up in a family of 16 children near the small French community of Terrebonne, Minnesota. He holds an Associate Degree in Crop Production from the University of Minnesota, Crookston, and a Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy from North Dakota State University. David is a Certified Professional Crop Consultant-Independent (CPCC-I) and a Certified Professional Agronomist (CPAg). He is also a certified Technical Service Provider (TSP) through the USDA, and a Certified Community Emergency Response Team Member (CERT). He lives in Crookston, with his wife, Linnea, and four children. David enjoys deer hunting, and working with organizations that develop jobs, business, and economic growth in the region. He is active in a number of service organizations, school activities, and community groups. He has been a member of the Crookston Development Authority for over 11 years, and a councilman for over 17 years. David loves having a close network of other company consultants that bring their own expertise to the company.

Dennis Berglund began with Centrol in 1980 and is the CEO of Twin Valley  Centrol. He grew up in New Town, North Dakota on the Fort Berthold Reservation. Dennis attended North Dakota State University for Plant Pathology Research and was a Plant Pathology Graduate student. He holds a B.S. in Microbiology from North Dakota State University and is a past president of the National Alliance of Independent Crop Consultants. He's a certified Professional Crop Consultant-Independent (CPCC-I) and a Certified Professional Agronomist (CPAg). Dennis was the 1995 Consultant of the Year, and received the 1999 Site-Liner Award, for advancement of Precision Ag. He has been interviewed by various farm journals, magazines and broadcast media, including Newsweek and PBS. Dennis has also consulted with USDA, American Cyanamid, and John Deere. He lives near Twin Valley, Minnesota, with his wife, Annette, and three children. He enjoys guns, computer technology, coin collecting, motorcycles, learning, and traveling. “I love my job and I can't think of any job that I would rather do. Our goal is simple – To help growers maximize their farm profitability.”

Doug Lenz started with Centrol in 1986. He grew up in Beltrami, Minnesota. Doug has a B.S. in Agronomy from North Dakota State University. He is a member of the National Alliance of Independent Crop Consultants (NAICC), Agricultural Consultants Association of ND (ACAND), and is certified as a Certified Professional Crop Consultant (CPCC-I). He lives near Buxton, North Dakota with his wife and four children, and enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and farming. Centrol challenges each person to be better each year, and he loves the teamwork and group strength of innovative and competitive individuals.

Greg Krieger started with Centrol in 1987. He grew up near White Earth, North Dakota. He holds a B.S. in Agronomy and Horticulture, along with a minor in Botany and Chemistry. He's a Certified Crop Consultant (CCA) and a Certified Professional Crop Consultant-Independent (CPCC-I). He lives near Galesburg, North Dakota with his wife, Allison, and three children. Greg enjoys playing piano, singing, playing guitar, winemaking and tasting, cooking, traveling, and gardening. When asked about what he likes about his job, he said “great customers, terrific company structure, different responsibilities every week, and continuous challenges. I really enjoy what I do.”

Jake Woltjer started with Centrol in 1994, and was hired full-time upon graduation in 2001. He grew up near Twin Valley, Minnesota. He graduated from North Dakota State University with a B.S. in Crop and Weed Science, and a B.S. in Crop Protection. He is a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA), a member of the National Alliance of Independent Crop Consultants (NAICC), and member of the North Dakota Crop Consultants. Jake lives in Mooreton, North Dakota, with his wife, Emily, and their son Luke. In his spare time he enjoys, hunting, fishing, golfing, and watching racing. “I enjoying working with such a great company, and the farmers I work with!”

Jeremy Wald started with Centrol in 2002.  He earned a bachelors degree in Agricultural Educatio n with a Crop and Weed Science Minor from North Dakota State University.  He is CCA certified and is a member of the NAICC.  Jeremy lives in Rugby with his wife, Jamie, and their son, Jaden. Jeremy is a member of Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby, the Knights of Columbus, the Jaycees, and the Eagles.  He enjoys hunting, reading, and following Nascar.  “I enjoy getting to be my own boss while providing information to the great farmers that I work closely with.”

Josh Erbes started scouting for Centrol in 2006. He grew up near Barney, North Dakota. In 2008 he graduated from North Dakota State University with a degree in Crop and Weed Sciences. He enjoys hunting and fishing as well as spending time at the lake with his wife, Kelsey. What he enjoys most about Centrol is working closely with farmers, being on the leading edge of agriculture, and providing unbiased recommendations.

Karen Olson began with Centrol in March of 1982. She was born in Moorhead, Minnesota, and grew up in Moorhead and Gary, Minnesota. She has a degree in Accounting from MSCTC-Moorhead. Karen and her husband, Steve, live near Twin Valley and have four children: Nick, Nate, Erika, and Ashley and one granddaughter, Morgan. She is active in their local Dollars for Scholars organization and Credit Union. Karen enjoys spending time with friends and family and all their activities, gardening, and keeping up with her granddaughter. She finds her work very rewarding and thoroughly enjoys the people she works with.

Keith Hennen started with Centrol as a scout in 1986 and became a full-time consultant in 1988. He has a B.S. in Agronomy from North Dakota State University with majors in Ag Mechanization and Crop Production and he is certified as a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA). He lives near Borup, Minnesota with his wife, Darla. They have 4 children, Jeremy, Marissa, Jace and Kassidi. His hobbies include coaching basketball, golf, hunting, and family activities. The things that he likes best about his job is being unbiased and independent and helping farmers make good decisions. Keith says, “Being a crop consultant is very challenging! My farmers trust me to give them the best recommendations under situations that often change from year to year. Our great group of consultants and our collective experience help me do that. I’m proud to be part of a top notch company like Centrol.”

Kevin Hollands began with Centrol in 1983. He grew up in Fisher, Minnesota. He is certified as a Tec hnical Service provider with the NRCS, a Certified Professional Crop Consultant-Independent (CPCC-I) and a Certified Professional Agronomist (CPAg) and holds a B.S. in  Agronomy from North Dakota State University. Kevin lives near Fisher, Minnesota with his wife, Darlyne, and their three children. He enjoys hunting big game, fishing on Lake of the Woods, competing in archery tournaments, and golfing with family and friends. “We have a wealth of knowledge and experience when combining the minds of all of our crop consultants. This makes us leaders, not followers!”

Lee Briese started with Centrol in 1997. He grew up in Pettibone, North Dakota. He is a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) and holds a B.S. in Crop and Weed Science from NDSU. He lives in Edgeley, North Dakota with his wife, Penny, and four children. Lee's hobbies include ice fishing, deer hunting, and trapping. He loves helping farmers solve their problems and watching the harvest come in.

Luke Erickson started with Centrol in 2003. He grew up on a farm near Aneta, North Dakota, and enjoyed farming with his dad. Luke attended North Dakota State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics. He enjoys the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Luke is proud to work with Centrol because of the professional relationships, valuable insight, and added recommendations the company brings to his consulting. He currently lives in Hunter, North Dakota.

Marvin Ebach began with Centrol in 1988. He grew up in Menoken, North Dakota. Marvin is a Certified Professional Crop Consultant – Independent (CPCC-I), a member of the Cass County Ag Improvement Association, and holds a B.S. Degree in General Ag. He and his wife, Kit, have three children. He enjoys golfing and hunting. What Marvin likes about his job is that we are employee owned, his great co-workers, and having the freedom to do his job the way he thinks is right.

Matt Olson started with Centrol in 1997. He is a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) and holds a B.S. in Crop and Weed Science from North Dakota State University. He was selected as NAICC Consultant of the Year in 2006. Matt lives in Valley City, North Dakota with his wife, Jana, and three children, Ella, Emmett, and Emery. His hobbies include ice fishing, deer hunting, and pheasant hunting. Matt enjoys working with progressive producers and helping them become more profitable through sound agronomic decisions.

Mike Kasowski began with Centrol in 1982. He grew up in Buffalo, North Dakota on the family farm of about 600 acres. Mike holds a B.S. Degree in Agronomy from North Dakota State University. He is a Certified Crop Consultant-Independent (CPCC-I), Certified Professional Agronomist (CPAg), and the 2003 BASF/NAICC Consultant of the Year. Mike and his wife, Gail, reside south of Fisher with their four children. He enjoys watching sports, golfing, coaching basketball, traveling, and spending time with family. “In agriculture, every year, every day is a challenge. You can control so many things yet are totally at the mercy of the weather and Mother Nature. Each year, there is such a rush that comes from watching seeds being sowed and eventually becoming mature plants that produce food for the betterment of my growers, the Red River Valley, the United States, and the world.” 

Mike Van Eps started with Centrol in 1993. He was raised in Hancock, Minnesota with seven older  siblings. He holds an Associate of Science   Degree in Horticulture from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Crop and Weed Science from North Dakota State University. He's a member of the NAICC, a Technical Service Provider (TSP) for the NRCS and a Certified Crop Advisor. He and his wife, Julie, live in Wahpeton, North Dakota with their two daughters and son. Mike enjoys boating, hunting, fishing, and biking. “What sets us apart from other companies is the ability to share information among ourselves. No one knows everything, but I am not the only source of information to my customers. I can bring all of Centrol's knowledge to them.”

Mitch Hoekstra started with Centrol in 1985. He was born in the Azores (on a U.S. Military base) and grew up in Alaska, Mississippi, Arkansas, Philippines and Minnesota. He earned a B.S. in Agronomy from North Dakota State University and is certified as a Certified Professional Crop Consultant-Independent (CPCC-I). He lives near Twin Valley, Minnesota with his wife, Stacie, and two children, Savanna and Soren. His hobbies are snowmobiling, farming, and spending time with his family. He has been a volunteer fireman since 1991. Mitch likes working with great farmers and co-workers, the challenges of every growing season and working in the outdoors.”

Myrna Skaurud has been with Centrol since 1999. She grew up in the Twin Valley, Minnesota area. Myrna and her husband, Jim, live near Twin Valley and have two daughters, along with two granddaughters. Myrna enjoys reading, traveling, and attending any and all of her granddaughters’ activities. She loves the people that she works with and the seasonal variety of duties.   

Nick Kasowski began working for Centrol in 2002 as a scout in the Fisher-Crookston area. He grew  up in a family of four near Fisher, Minnesota. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy from the University of Minnesota at Crookston. In his spare time Nick enjoys a wide variety of sports and recreation. “I strongly believe in what we do as a company. We provide a non-biased opinion with the farmer’s best interest in mind.”  

Nick Paulsrud grew up along the Red River, near Halstad, Minnesota, located between Grand Forks and Fargo, North Dakota. He was raised on a farm and worked on the farm until Nick Paulsrudhis second year in college, when he began with Centrol in 1998. Nick holds a B.S. from the University of Minnesota, Crookston, and is now a consultant for Centrol in the Valley City and Jamestown, North Dakota areas. He enjoys snowmobiling and playing basketball in his spare time.

Patrick Estvold started scouting for Centrol in 2004. He grew up in Lakota, North Dakota and now lives in Larimore with his wife, Jen. Pat holds a B.S. in Crop Production S ales and Service from North Dakota State College of Science and a degree in Crop and Weed Science from North Dakota State University. He is currently working toward becoming a Certified Crop Advisor.  He enjoys bow hunting, fishing, and spending time at the lake. What he enjoys most about Centrol is working closely with growers and being on the leading edge of agriculture. 

Pat Foster started with Centrol in 2006 as a scout in the Fargo area.  He grew up on the family farm located near Britton, South Dakota.  He holds a B.S. in Crop and Weed Sciences and a Minor in Agribusiness from North Dakota State University and is a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA). He enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, snowmobiling, being outdoors, and enjoying life. Before starting with Centrol he worked in the HRSW Seed Lab at NDSU. “Every year in agriculture brings new   challenges to the table. At Centrol we work together as a network of individuals to meet these challenges, and in return this makes us better consultants for the growers we work with. Our unbiased recommendations are always in the best interest of the grower and their farming operation.”

Paul Metzger began with Centrol in 1997. He grew up south of Fisher, Minnesota. Paul holds a B.Paul MetzgerS. Degree in Ag Industries Management with an emphasis in Agronomy from the University of Minnesota – Crookston. Paul and his wife, Michon, live near Fisher. He enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, scuba diving, and spending time with family and friends. When asked about what he enjoys about his job, he said “Being unbiased. Being outside all summer long. And taking pride in working for a company that we own.”

Rick Trudel has been with Centrol since 1987. He grew up in Cando, North Dakota. Rick graduated from North Dakota State University in 1986 with a Major in Crop Production – Weed Science and a minor in Psychology and Ag Mech. Before starting with Centrol, Rick bartended, and was a king crab fisherman based out of Dutch Harbor, Alaska. He also spent a summer in England, golfing every course where the British Open has been held. Rick and his wife, DaRinda, have three children. He enjoys hunting deer, geese, ducks, pheasants, and prairie chickens, fishing, snowmobiling, and playing poker. When asked what he enjoys most about his job, he said “working with the best farmers in the area, and knowing that I am making the correct recommendation based on the cards that are dealt at the time.

Ross Peterson began scouting for Centrol in 2008. He grew up in Mayville, North Dakota and holds a B.S. degree in Crop and Weed Sciences with a minor in Agribusiness from North Dakota State University.  He currently lives in Bismarck, North Dakota, and his hobbies include bow hunting, ice fishing, golfing, and archery. Ross enjoys being part of a team at Centrol with such a great network of consultants.  He feels that, “The combined knowledge of all our consultants and our unbiased recommendations truly make your farm better!”


 Ryan Langerud began with Centrol in 1998. He grew up in Edinburg, North Dakota and holds a B.S. in Plant Industries Management-Agronomy from the University of Minnesota – Crookston. He is also a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA). He lives in Hankinson, North Dakota. His hobbies include elk hunting in Colorado, archery hunting for deer and antelope, golfing, and snowmobiling. But most of all, he likes spending the fall chasing pheasants with his two yellow labs. Ryan enjoys working outdoors where rarely two days are the same and having the opportunity to work with great farmers and a great company.Sarah Gubbels

Sarah Billings started working with Centrol in 2006. She grew up near Kennedy, Minnesota and earned a Crop and Weed Degree with an AgriBusiness Minor from North Dakota State University. During college, she worked as a Teacher’s Assistant and a nighttime receptionist for a television station in Fargo. Sarah currently lives in Harvey, North Dakota with her husband, Chris and enjoys traveling, being outside, curling, snow-shoeing, and spending time with family and friends. She is a Certified Crop Advisor. 

Troy Hamre has been with Centrol since 1994. He grew up on a farm near Beltrami, Minn esota. He holds an Associate Degree in Crop Production from the University of Minnesota, Crookston and a B.S. in Crop and Weed Science from North Dakota State University and is a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA). He currently lives in Crook
ston, with his wife Stacy and four children. He enjoys farming, hunting, and fishing. Troy enjoys helping his farmers succeed.
